Miti Miwiri means "two trees" in the local language. The house stands at the heart of Ibo's old town, surrounded by nature and mango trees, in an atmosphere that still recalls the old Portuguese colonial rule.
It is the perfect place to begin your African experience and to explore the Quirimbas Archipelago: its unspoilt islands, turquoise water, golden beaches and a Mwani culture that is still proudly preserved.
A house reborn
Miti Miwiri was born from the ruins of an old colonial house. We rebuilt it with traditional materials and building methods, combined with modern techniques, so that the house keeps its character while offering today's comfort. Nine rooms, each one different, now open onto a garden of mango trees, a swimming pool and shaded terraces.
Where we are
Ibo Island is the best known of the thirty coral islands of the Quirimbas Archipelago, in northern Mozambique. For centuries the capital of the Quirimbas, it is considered one of the cultural and historical jewels of the country and is often called the little sister of Mozambique Island, because of their similar architecture. Ibo lies in the heart of the archipelago, about 45 minutes by boat from the mainland.
